Senior Software Engineer

Base Salary Rate: $123,165 - $144,900 per year

About This Role
Kidde Global Solutions is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to deliver reliable software and firmware for life safety products. This role combines technical leadership with active development responsibility and requires strong engineering judgment, production-quality coding skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional and remote engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, code, debug, integrate, and maintain software and firmware for fire and life safety products.
Create and review architecture, design, and test documentation while promoting technical rigor and engineering best practices.
Lead solutions from concept through release while balancing quality, compliance, schedule, and maintainability.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused products.
Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to a compliance-driven engineering culture.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in software engineering, firmware engineering, embedded systems, or related technical discipline
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
Preferred Qualifications
Experience collaborating with remote or globally distributed engineering teams
Hands-on development experience, including coding, debugging, integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis in production environments
Proficiency with C, C++, Python, embedded systems, real-time operating systems, CAN, IP-based networking, or related protocols
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, software architecture, and embedded development practices
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills with a self-directed, team-oriented work style
Knowledge of SQLite/SQL, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, regulatory agencies, or fire products/markets
