Job description

Company Description

Pare Studio is an AI and design studio that builds custom tools, AI integrations, and brands for startups and small businesses. The team is lean and highly experienced, using AI-native workflows to deliver agency-quality work quickly and cost-effectively. Based in the UK, the studio collaborates remotely with clients around the world. Team members work closely with founders and product leaders, shaping early-stage products and scalable systems. The environment emphasizes high ownership, practical innovation, and thoughtful design in every engagement.

Role Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Pare Studio, you will design, build, and maintain robust software solutions that power custom tools, AI integrations, and web applications for clients. You will work on-site in London, collaborating closely with designers, AI specialists, and client teams to translate product requirements into scalable, secure back-end architectures and clean APIs. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing production-ready code, reviewing peer implementations, improving performance and reliability, and contributing to technical decision-making across projects. You will also help define best practices, improve internal tooling and workflows, and support integration of AI services into existing systems. This is a contract role, with expectations of high autonomy, clear communication, and strong ownership of deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.

  • Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with experience building and maintaining production services and APIs.

  • Advanced Programming skills in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or similar) and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

  • Experience designing scalable architectures, working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), and using relational or NoSQL databases.

  • Background integrating third-party APIs and, ideally, working with AI/ML or LLM-based services.

  • Comfort with modern development practices, including version control (Git), code review, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability tooling.

  • Ability to work on-site in London, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

  • Prior experience in senior or lead engineering roles, preferably in startups, agencies, or product-focused environments; a relevant degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
