Job description

Overview: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working primarily on backend code fusing multiple data sources and processes together providing immediate value to the analysts by automating their workflows. You will function as a technical expert and be responsible for leading major assignments and guiding project outcomes. You will work with stakeholders from across the Intelligence Community and will need to be comfortable communicating with both military and civilian personnel. You will work on multiple projects each day so must be comfortable context switching between applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale backend services and workflows

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of high-performance applications

  • Leverage agile methodologies to enhance operational efficiency

  • Participate in rapid prototyping to quickly iterate and improve solutions

  • Utilize modern technology stacks to meet client needs

  • Implement CI/CD DevSecOps pipelines using GitLab

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

  • Define technical standards, coding guidelines, best practices and mentor team members

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly)

  • 9โ€“13 years of backend software development experience

  • Strong ability to plan, manage, and deliver complex technology assignments

  • Proficiency in Python, AWS Services, and containerizing applications

  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments

  • Experience using GitLab for code source repository and using GitLab CI/CD

  • Experience developing Geospatial focused applications and scripts and a deep expertise interfacing with geospatial systems using open-source and proprietary geospatial formats

  • Experience with Geospatial data formats like Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, NTIF, WKT,

  • Experience using Geospatial libraries like Shapely, GeoPandas, Numpy, PyProj, etc

Preferred (not required):

  • Ability to work independently with clients or stakeholders to develop user stories for full-service consumer and business applications

  • Experience with government and/or commercial imagery products, including EO and SAR or related RADAR imaging technologies

  • Agile certifications

  • Experience developing automated detection algorithms

  • Experience developing and training AI models

  • Experience with Argo Workflows
