About the Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer supports technology development within the Geospatial sector, contributing to AI model development, software research and development, infrastructure, and user-facing products. This role plays an important part in advancing software capabilities, developing innovative solutions, and delivering reliable technology that supports geospatial applications and workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, research, design, architect, develop, and test software features for the Geospatial technology team.
• Write production-quality code primarily in Python, with opportunities to work with C++ or JavaScript.
• Collaborate within cross-functional Scrum teams that include AI/ML, Geospatial Data, Software Engineering, and GIS specialists.
• Develop software solutions for geospatial, AI/ML, and data-intensive applications.
• Work with internal and external users to validate software functionality, quality, reliability, and availability.
• Contribute to software architecture, technical design, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development and integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into geospatial products.
Requirements:
• Professional experience developing commercial software products.
• Strong proficiency writing production Python code, preferably involving large or complex datasets.
• Experience in one or more relevant technical domains, such as geospatial data processing, computer vision, AI/ML, LiDAR, or robotics/autonomy.
• Familiarity with Linux, Docker, GitHub, and modern software development practices.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Strong software engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with GIS applications and geospatial software.
• Familiarity with workflow or orchestration frameworks.
• Experience programming in C++ or JavaScript.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Experience developing AI/ML solutions for production applications.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Pay range: $118,200–$147,800 USD, with compensation varying based on knowledge, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
