Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Data Delivery based in United States.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Data Delivery, you will shape the long-term technical direction of critical data and analytics systems supporting a rapidly evolving technology platform. You will work across teams to build scalable, reliable systems that power reporting, measurement, forecasting, billing, exports, and customer-facing insights. The role combines deep backend and data engineering expertise with broad technical leadership and strategic decision-making. You will partner with product, engineering, data science, analytics, and business leaders to translate priorities into durable technical solutions. You will identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, data quality, developer experience, and operational efficiency. This is an influential role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex distributed-systems challenges while mentoring senior talent and creating leverage across an organization.

Accountabilities:

  • Shape the long-term architecture, technical strategy, and engineering direction for Data Delivery and related data and analytics systems.

  • Lead high-impact initiatives spanning multiple teams, systems, and product areas, helping engineering groups align around scalable and sustainable technical solutions.

  • Build and guide platform capabilities that enable teams to deliver new reporting, measurement, forecasting, billing, export, and analytics functionality more efficiently.

  • Make critical system-design decisions across APIs, data pipelines, data models, distributed systems, storage technologies, serving layers, and operational patterns.

  • Partner with product, engineering, data science, analytics, and business leaders to translate organizational priorities into actionable technical roadmaps.

  • Identify systemic opportunities across reliability, scalability, data quality, observability, developer experience, and operational ownership, then drive improvements across the relevant technical areas.

  • Evaluate and clearly communicate trade-offs involving correctness, latency, freshness, cost, migration complexity, maintainability, and long-term platform leverage.

  • Help establish trusted, scalable, and efficient data systems that support customer-facing experiences and internal business functions.

  • Mentor and coach engineers, including senior-level contributors, through architecture reviews, design discussions, technical guidance, and hands-on leadership.

  • Improve alignment across the broader Stats & Analytics domain by clarifying how systems interact, documenting technical decisions, and establishing durable architectural patterns.

  • Connect technical investments to customer impact, product velocity, reliability, and long-term business value.

Requirements:

  • Bring extensive experience shaping technical direction across multiple teams, domains, or large-scale platform areas, with the seniority and judgment expected of a Staff or Senior Staff-level engineer.

  • Have deep expertise building scalable backend services, distributed systems, data platforms, or data-intensive applications in production environments.

  • Demonstrate strong system-design capabilities across APIs, data pipelines, databases, distributed systems, observability, reliability, and long-term architecture.

  • Be highly effective at influencing engineering, product, data science, analytics, and business stakeholders and aligning them around complex technical strategies.

  • Think at a platform level, with the ability to design reusable systems and capabilities that create leverage across multiple teams and accelerate future product development.

  • Have a strong data-quality mindset and be able to reason about correctness, freshness, completeness, consistency, explainability, cost efficiency, and customer trust.

  • Demonstrate strong product and business judgment, connecting engineering investments to customer outcomes, operational efficiency, product development speed, and long-term value.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Bring proven experience mentoring senior engineers, raising engineering standards, and influencing technical culture across a broader organization.

  • Possess strong programming skills, with experience in Golang preferred; familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, TiDB, Redshift, Vitess, Iceberg, StarRocks, or Trino is a plus.

  • Experience in AdTech, MarTech, reporting, analytics, billing, attribution, forecasting, or high-volume event processing is considered an asset but is not required.

  • Be comfortable operating across a broad technical surface area and working collaboratively in a fast-moving, highly technical environment.

Benefits:

  • Competitive U.S. base salary range of $240,000–$330,000, with final compensation determined by factors including experience, technical skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, organizational needs, and budget alignment.

  • Potential eligibility for additional compensation, including annual bonuses, commissions, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits package, depending on the role.

  • Retirement, 401(k), or pension savings programs, depending on location.

  • Competitive paid time off packages, including birthday leave.

  • Comprehensive mental health care support.

  • Health benefits beginning on the first day of employment.

  • Work-from-home reimbursement to support a productive remote working environment.

  • Optional global WeWork membership for those seeking access to flexible workspace options.

  • Robust training and onboarding programs.

  • Support for professional development initiatives, including conferences, courses, books, and other learning opportunities.

  • Access to programmatic courses and certifications supporting continuous technical and professional development.

  • Parental leave programs.

  • A friendly, welcoming, and supportive culture with opportunities to participate in social and team events.

  • Benefits and perks may vary depending on the country of employment and nature of engagement.
