Senior Staff Software Engineer, Guest & Host

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Guest & Host based in United States.

This is a senior individual contributor opportunity focused on shaping scalable backend architecture and applying advanced AI technologies to products and engineering workflows. You will help build foundational systems that power communication and connectivity experiences for millions of users worldwide. The role spans high-impact technical initiatives involving messaging, notifications, partner integrations, and other critical platform capabilities. You will work closely with senior technical leaders and cross-functional partners to turn complex business and user needs into scalable, high-quality solutions. As one of the organization’s most senior engineers, you will remain hands-on, contributing code while setting technical direction across major initiatives. You will also influence engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance. The environment is highly collaborative, distributed, and focused on building extensible platforms that continuously improve the guest and host experience.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of scalable backend systems and platforms that support high-impact guest and host experiences.

• Partner with senior technical leaders and cross-functional teams to define technical strategies, priorities, and solutions aligned with business outcomes.

• Work closely with product, design, marketing, prototyping, and other teams to envision and deliver distinctive, useful, and extensible communication experiences.

• Develop scalable foundations for reaching hosts through notifications and other communication capabilities.

• Explore and implement opportunities to enhance partner integration platforms through modern artificial intelligence technologies.

• Apply advanced AI capabilities to products and engineering workflows to improve scalability, effectiveness, and delivery.

• Evaluate how major technical decisions influence business outcomes and develop frameworks and platforms that enable high-quality execution.

• Provide hands-on engineering contributions, including writing production-quality code and solving complex architectural challenges.

• Conduct technical design and code reviews while establishing engineering standards and promoting high-quality development practices.

• Mentor and advise engineers, helping strengthen technical capabilities and encouraging effective engineering practices across teams.

• Lead complex technical initiatives involving multiple teams and organizations while maintaining alignment around architecture, execution, and outcomes.

Requirements:

• Bring 12+ years of relevant software engineering experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments.

• Hold a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Demonstrate experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise scale with significant business or user impact.

• Have proven experience applying modern artificial intelligence technologies to products and software development processes.

• Bring strong technical leadership experience, including leading project teams, establishing technical direction and strategy, and driving complex engineering initiatives.

• Have experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and other technical and business teams.

• Demonstrate strong backend architecture and system design capabilities, with the ability to build scalable and extensible platforms.

• Be comfortable remaining hands-on at a senior technical level and contributing directly to software development.

• Possess strong communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence technical initiatives across teams and organizations.

• Be capable of operating effectively in a highly collaborative environment while balancing strategic thinking with detailed technical execution.

Benefits:

• The base salary range for this role is $248,000–$310,000 USD .

• The role may also be eligible for bonus compensation, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

• The position is US Remote Eligible , with the possibility of occasional work at an office or participation in offsites as agreed with the manager.
