For our project in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we are looking for
Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Systems) - 100% (m/f)
The Ideal Candidate will be a senior mechanical engineering professional with strong technical-office, design review, and coordination experience across HVAC systems for high-rise, hospitality, mixed-use, or large-scale commercial developments. The role requires hands-on capability in cooling-load calculations, chilled-water systems, air distribution, central plant coordination, smoke-control design, equipment selection, technical submittal review, and coordination with BIM, BMS, fire life safety, architectural, structural, and site teams
Responsibilities:

Lead technical-office reviews for HVAC systems, including central cooling plants, chilled-water networks, air distribution systems, plant rooms, risers, shafts, and mechanical smoke-control systems.

Perform and audit cooling and heating load calculations, chilled-water hydraulic calculations, pump head calculations, duct static pressure, external static pressure, and expansion tank sizing.

Validate staircase and lift-core pressurization calculations and smoke-management design in accordance with applicable codes and authority requirements.

Check HVAC shop drawings, riser diagrams, chiller plant schematics, ductwork and piping layouts, plant room sections, equipment schedules, and coordinated Revit/Navisworks models.

Assess material submittals, equipment datasheets, compliance sheets, and technical selections for chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, cooling towers, pumps, VFDs, dampers, and controls.

Coordinate HVAC interfaces with architecture, structure, electrical power, ELV/BMS, fire life safety, plumbing, BIM, and site teams.

Develop and check testing and commissioning method statements, TAB procedures, inspection and test plans, functional performance requirements, and HVAC/BMS sequence of operation documents.

Identify technical gaps, constructability concerns, interface clashes, missing information, and compliance issues, then drive clear close-out actions.

Participate in technical meetings, consultant/client reviews, coordination workshops, and specialist supplier discussions.

Maintain accurate review records, calculation files, coordinated comments, and technical close-out documentation.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Valid Saudi Council of Engineers accreditation is required.

Minimum 12 to 15 years of dedicated technical-office, HVAC design, design review, or mechanical coordination experience.

Strong experience in high-rise, hospitality, mixed-use, large-scale commercial, or complex building developments in Saudi Arabia.

Advanced proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and common CDE/document-review platforms.

Strong working knowledge of Saudi Building Code mechanical and energy requirements, ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 55, SMACNA, NFPA 92, and BS EN 12101.

Proven capability in HVAC calculations, equipment selection reviews, shop drawing reviews, technical submittals, method statements, and commissioning documentation.

Good understanding of BMS integration, HVAC controls, sequences of operation, TAB, and handover requirements.

Strong coordination and communication skills with consultants, contractors, suppliers, BIM teams, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders.

Fluent written and spoken English is required; Arabic language capability is an advantage
