Site Engineer

A Site Engineer is responsible for supervising construction activities, ensuring work is carried out according to plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Project Supervision

• Oversee daily construction activities on-site.

• Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings and specifications.

• Monitor progress to meet project schedules.

• Site Management

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and labor teams.

• Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently.

• Resolve on-site technical issues promptly.

• Quality Control

• Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Conduct material inspections and verify workmanship.

• Maintain quality records and inspection reports.

• Health and Safety

• Enforce workplace health and safety regulations.

• Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks.

• Identify and mitigate potential hazards.

• Surveying and Setting Out

• Perform site measurements and layout according to design.

• Verify levels, alignments, and dimensions before construction.

• Documentation

• Maintain daily site reports and progress records.

• Prepare material requests and work completion reports.

• Record site instructions, inspections, and changes.

• Coordination

• Liaise with project managers, architects, consultants, and clients.

• Attend site meetings and provide project updates.

• Coordinate inspections and approvals with relevant authorities.

• Material and Equipment Management

• Monitor material deliveries and storage.

• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and utilized.

• Track material consumption and minimize waste.

• Problem Solving

• Identify construction challenges and propose practical solutions.

• Assist in resolving design discrepancies and site conflicts.

• Compliance

• Ensure construction complies with contract requirements, local building codes, and environmental regulations.

• Support project audits and inspections.
