Job description
Job Summary:
The Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical aspects of construction projects on-site. This role involves ensuring that mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.) are executed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Supervision:
-
Supervise and monitor all mechanical works on-site, including HVAC systems, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting systems, and other mechanical installations.

Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials used by contractors and subcontractors.

Coordination & Communication:
-
Coordinate mechanical work with other trades (civil, electrical, architectural) to ensure seamless integration and avoid clashes.

Liaise with the design team to resolve any on-site design discrepancies or technical issues.

Quality Assurance & Control:

Conduct regular site inspections and walkthroughs to identify and document any non-conformities or deficiencies in mechanical installations.

Witness and verify various mechanical tests (e.g., pressure testing, duct leakage testing, functional performance tests) and commissioning activities.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting:

Monitor the progress of mechanical works against the project schedule and report any potential delays.

Prepare and submit regular progress reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.

Track and manage changes to the mechanical scope, including variations and change orders.

Problem Solving & Technical Support:

Provide technical guidance and support to site teams to resolve mechanical-related issues.

Recommend solutions for design or construction challenges on-site.

Safety & Compliance:

Promote a safety-conscious culture among all personnel involved in mechanical installations.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
-
Consultancy Experience.
-
10 years of progressive experience as a Site Mechanical Engineer in construction projects.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Experience with BIM software like Revit is a plus.
