Job Description:
The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
The Level 2 Software Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Bruno, Cypress, or similar.

Exposure to API testing and related tools.

Comfortable working in a Linux environment or possess a foundational understanding of Linux.

Quick learner with a proactive, adaptable mindset.

Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), functional testing, API testing, accessibility (508), and role-based testing.

Strong documentation skills: manual test cases, test procedures, requirements verification traceability matrices (RVTM), and test plans.

Proficient in GitLab workflow processes.

Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.

Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned with requirements and specifications.

Execute both manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, UAT, API, accessibility (508), and role-based testing.

Identify, document, track, verify defects, provide clear reproduction steps, expected versus actual results, and severity assessments.

Analyze test outcomes, report findings, and deliver actionable feedback to developers and stakeholders.

Collaborate effectively with team members throughout the software development lifecycle.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation frameworks, increasing coverage for critical workflows.

Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning/review sessions.

Help define and refine QA processes, standards, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Prioritize testing activities to balance quality assurance with project timelines and deliverables.

Maintain thorough documentation of test artifacts, results, and quality metrics.
Qualifications:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience.

2 years of work experience in the SIGINT, IA, or IT domains.

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to computer engineering or computer science disciplines. 4 years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for the degree for a total of 9 years.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
