Location- Calgary, Canada

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AI Project Manager with a robust background in leading Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives within IT Operations environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing cross-functional AI programs from ideation to production deployment. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively bridge the gap between technical AI teams and business stakeholders, drive Agile delivery at pace, and ensure that AI initiatives deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of AI and ML projects — including LLM integrations, automation pipelines, predictive analytics, and AI-powered ITSM solutions.

• Define and own the AI project roadmap, aligning delivery milestones with IT strategy and business priorities.

• Manage cross-functional teams of data scientists, ML engineers, developers, and business analysts through complete AI project lifecycles.

• Drive Agile delivery — facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

• Coordinate AI model releases through MLOps / DevOps pipelines ensuring quality gates are met before production deployment.

• Evaluate and onboard AI platforms and tools including Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, Power Automate, Claude (Anthropic), and custom ML models.

• Identify opportunities to apply AI and LLM technologies to streamline IT Ops processes: service desk, incident management, CMDB, patch compliance, and endpoint monitoring.

• Define success metrics, KPIs, and OKRs for all AI initiatives and drive continuous improvement post-launch.

• Ensure AI model development follows data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA) and internal security and audit requirements.

• Produce and maintain all project artefacts: project charters, WBS, RACI matrices, risk registers, status reports, and closure documents.

• Work with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, and ITSM platforms to track project progress and surface risks early to leadership.

• Prepare executive-level dashboards and status reports on AI programme health, budget, risks, and delivery timelines.

Mandatory Skills

• Proven experience in AI/ML implementation within IT Operations environments.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in driving Agile delivery.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive collaboration.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.

• ITIL v4 – Process on Incident, Change, and Problem Management

• Agile / Scrum / SAFe delivery frameworks

• MLOps and AI model lifecycle governance

• Risk and issue management; change control and scope governance

• Critical Incident Handling and escalation management

• Stakeholder communication and executive reporting

• Vendor and third-party partner management

• Effective collaboration across geographically distributed, cross-functional teams

• Strong analytical and logical thinking to translate complex AI concepts into actionable project plans

• Ability to communicate technical AI topics clearly to non-technical business stakeholders and C-suite audiences

• Results-driven with a bias for action — comfortable managing ambiguity and driving decisions in fast-moving AI environments

• Ready to support 24x5 rotational shift and weekend on-call where project demands require

• Strong oral and written communication skills in English

• Growth mindset — continuously learning new AI technologies, frameworks, and delivery methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.Tech / B.E.) or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5 to 8 years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing AI, ML, or data-driven technology programmes.

• Certification – PMP / PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management certification (mandatory).

• Certification – Agile / Scrum (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent).

• Certification – Microsoft Azure AI / Azure Fundamentals / AWS Cloud Practitioner (preferred).
