Role Description
As a Software Engineer at Greener Act, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power our sustainability engagement platform. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into clean, efficient code and robust APIs. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing performance, improving system reliability, writing automated tests, and participating in code reviews. You will also help integrate third-party services, enhance data reporting capabilities, and contribute to technical documentation and architecture discussions. This is a full-time remote role, offering flexibility while collaborating with a distributed, mission-driven team.
Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.

Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-ready applications.

Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns.

Experience with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go) and common frameworks.

Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.

Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Interest in sustainability, impact measurement, or working with solutions aligned to the UN SDGs is highly beneficial.
