Location: Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas

Position Summary
Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer โ Ground Systems to support the DoD Human-Rated Space Task Order 2 (DHSTO 2) contract onsite at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This position supports the DoD Space Test Program (STP) Houston office by developing applications for payload testing, ground-support equipment software, and operational ground software used to communicate with, command, and control satellites and hosted payloads. The selected candidate will support multiple projects and coordinate with other software engineers, Command and Data Handling (C&DH) engineers, and operations personnel to accomplish project objectives. This position also contributes to software-development processes, requirements and code documentation, code and design reviews, software deployment, and on-orbit operations.
Responsibilities

Develop software code in accordance with established program software-development processes.

Create and maintain clear code and software documentation.

Work with project teams to develop, analyze, and document software requirements.

Develop system architectures that meet project, IT, and IS requirements.

Contribute to the development and improvement of software processes.

Assist with implementing new software-development tools and best practices.
-
Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

Support project design reviews, including Kickoff, PDR, CDR, and MRR.

Support software integration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Support applications used for payload testing, ground-support equipment software, and operational ground systems.

Support software deployment and on-orbit operations as required.

Coordinate with software engineers, C&DH engineers, operations personnel, project leads, and customers across multiple projects.

Participate in regular team meetings to provide status updates and coordinate activities with other team members.
Required Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen.
-
Must possess an active Top Secret clearance.

Bachelorโs degree from an accredited institution in computer science or a related technical discipline, with 5 - 10 years of software-development experience.

Experience developing software in Windows and Linux environments.

Experience developing applications using at least one of the following technology stacks: Python with Flask or JavaScript with React or Vue.js.

Ability to work with limited initial requirements and independently develop solutions that meet project objectives.

Experience working within an Agile software-development environment.

Experience executing software-development projects from initial requirements through completion.

Demonstrated technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Experience using Git and GitLab or comparable source-control and software-development platforms.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment where collaboration and communication are essential.

Motivated self-starter who is willing to take initiative.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, project leads, customers, and contract personnel.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
