Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a skilled and motivated Software Engineer II to support the Mission Systems Resilient Connectivity Products (RCP) organization at the GETC Puerto Rico location. This role involves contributing to the engineering development and execution of important programs that enable our RCP product lines.

In this role you will participate in software engineering activities that design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software solutions for various communication systems products.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location and is to be worked Onsite, 5 days a week. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What YOU will do:

  • Design, develop, integrate and test communications systems for aircrafts that support multiple ways of connecting the aircraft to the ground and the airlines

  • Work alongside FPGA, hardware, systems and software teams in order to seamlessly embed advanced technology into wide array of communications product portfolio.

  • Conduct design, development, integration, implementation, and testing of our embedded software in C++, C, Ada and Python on Linux OS for our connectivity products.

  • Prepare software builds for execution in a simulation environment, reference platforms and on the target hardware.

  • Prepare embedded test solutions that support hardware qualification activities.

  • Participate in formal run for score and software release activities.

  • Participate in root cause investigations for complex issues seen internally and by the customer.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

  • Experience with Embedded Development using object-oriented design

  • Experience with development tool sets, for example, Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance after start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Command line Linux and embedded C/C++.

  • Software level debugging experience.

  • Knowledge of RF, HF, radio basics

  • Familiarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.

  • Experience with Bash and Python scripting languages
