Software Engineer II
Tecuity, Inc
Job description
Position Summary
The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining internet applications and related systems. The Software Engineer II must be highly responsible, accountable, and self-motivated, talented at problem solving, and be able to design optimal solutions to complex problems. The Software Engineer II will work closely within a team, following industry best practices, standards, and patterns to create innovative, high-quality solutions that meet our clients' business needs and objectives. The Software Engineer II will have a real impact as a core member of the team, bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives to existing and new products.
As a Software Engineer II, you’ll grow your ownership of the product over time, with support from senior engineers on the team.
About the Work
Our product serves Secretary of State offices – state government agencies responsible for business filings and other public records - which means real filing deadlines, statutory requirements and citizens who rely on a working system. All new development happens on our modern .NET platform. We also maintain established .NET Framework (legacy) implementations currently in production or being migrated onto the modern platform; depending on your assignment, you may work in one or both.
This is a role with room to grow. You will start with well-defined work and clear support from senior engineers, and you will be given larger and less-defined pieces as you demonstrate you can carry them. You will be expected to know the product and the client well and understand the business rules behind the filings you build – not just the code.
AI-assisted development is standard practice here. Claude Code is in company-wide use at Tecuity and you will be learning it alongside a team that uses it daily. No prior experience is required – just a willingness to learn it, use it to work quickly and efficiently, and hold everything it produces to the same standard as code you write yourself.
