What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III

Location : 55 Madison Street, Denver, CO 80206

Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of software engineering plans; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Understand the business, stakeholder, and technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing software solutions to address the needs. Prepare requirement traceability matrix and maintain traceability between business requirements, functional requirements, design and test cases. Contribute to the creation of user stories for components, modules, and simple requirements. Create and configure minimalistic code for entire software components and applications and ensure the software components meet business and technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages and software development standards and tools. Take the initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), testing, or any other process. Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration. Map the customer requirements into test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the components and modules. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs. Track and analyze defects for the components and modules and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past software engineering solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application. Conduct complex maintenance procedures for software applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the software application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics. Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze software application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and analysis. Evaluate software change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills Required: Experience with coding in object-oriented and procedural languages (C, C++, Python, and Go), applying software design patterns and clean coding practices. Experience with developing, maintaining, and scaling backend services and microservices in distributed systems. Experience with designing, testing, and optimizing ETL pipelines and large-scale data processing workflows. Experience with database management, schema design, and data modeling using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redshift. Experience with designing, developing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs. Experience with implementing and troubleshooting high-throughput messaging and streaming systems using Kafka. Experience with Cloud-based infrastructure design, deployment, and orchestration including AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, and VPC), Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring and logging with CloudWatch, Grafana, and New Relic. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, building automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and custom scripts. Experience with automated testing and quality assurance including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing using Pytest. Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of applications and data pipelines. Experience with version control, collaborative development, and code review processes using Git and GitHub. Experience with agile development workflows, including sprint planning, task tracking, Jira, Confluence, and weekly standups. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $126,901/year to $198,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
