Our client seeks an experienced Software Engineer in Test who will embed within an Agile squad to engineer quality into products from inception through delivery. The role requires creation of fully automated tests within each sprint, close collaboration with cross-functional partners, and independent judgment to champion quality engineering. The work will support Corporate Services Technology with a focus on finance technology, serving a large developer group while operating with autonomy. The outcome is a reliable, test-automated product that improves customer experience.

Rate: $65.00 to $55.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities

Embed in an Agile team and participate in all aspects of product development to ensure quality is engineered from the start.

Design, develop, and maintain automated tests each sprint using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, ReadyAPI, and Rest Assured.

Integrate and optimize test automation within CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.

Collaborate with project managers, analysts, developers, vendors, and business specialists.

Analyze requirements and business needs to identify issues prior to test execution.

Develop test plans, test cases, and project-aligned testing timelines; manage test reporting and signoff.

Perform defect triage and root cause analysis to drive remediation.

Champion quality engineering practices and contribute constructive Agile feedback to improve sprint outcomes.

Support integration testing across multiple systems and interfaces including flat files and APIs.
Experience Requirements

7+ years building test automation frameworks with Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, ReadyAPI, and Rest Assured.

Programming with Java/J2EE and JavaScript; experience with Spring, Web Services, Angular, and SQL.

Hands-on CI/CD integration of test automation and quality gates.

Experience with Agile methodologies and distributed team coordination.

Requirement analysis, defect tracking, and comprehensive test reporting.

Strong analytical and technical skills with proven root cause analysis capability.

Independent, self-motivated approach suitable for a small QE team supporting many developers.

Nice to have: financial industry exposure; highly configurable SaaS product experience; relational database experience; Jira and Xray; AWS; Java + Playwright frameworks; integration testing across systems.
