About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, modify, integrate, test, deploy and support solutions built on Experian PowerCurve Collections. This full-time role requires strong hands-on expertise in PCC Studio, Page Designer, Connectivity and IDE, together with JavaScript, API integration and data-handling capability.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable software designs and technical specifications for Experian PowerCurve Collections solutions.

  • Design, configure, develop and modify PowerCurve Collections components, workflows, treatment strategies and decisioning logic using PCC Studio and related modules.

  • Develop JavaScript, HTML and CSS customisations for Page Designer screens, including client-side logic, dynamic forms, validation and user experience improvements.

  • Design, build, test and maintain RESTful API integrations between PCC and external systems such as CRM platforms, core banking systems, payment gateways and data warehouses.

  • Use PCC Connectivity and IDE to develop, debug, document and manage component-level customisations and version-controlled releases.

  • Write and optimise Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries for data extraction, validation, troubleshooting and performance tuning.

  • Test and debug software components and integrations, diagnose faults and implement reliable fixes across development, UAT and production environments.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation covering software designs, interfaces, configurations, deployment procedures and operational support requirements.

  • Support PCC installation, upgrades, migrations, environment configuration and performance optimisation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders to deliver secure, maintainable and scalable PCC solutions, and contribute to automated build, deployment, monitoring and release processes through CI/CD pipelines and scripting tools.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • A bachelor degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and recognised vendor certification.

  • At least five years of relevant information technology experience, including at least three years of hands-on experience with Experian PowerCurve Collections version 2.x or later.

  • Strong knowledge of PCC Studio, Page Designer, Connectivity and IDE-based development.

  • Demonstrated software development experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS for front-end customisation and dynamic form logic.

  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON structures, integration patterns and software interface design.

  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for data handling, reporting, debugging and performance tuning.

  • Sound understanding of collections strategy design, case management and treatment-path configuration.

  • Demonstrated software design, development, testing, debugging and production troubleshooting capability.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Desirable experience

  • Experience with Experian PowerCurve Originations in addition to PowerCurve Collections.

  • Experience in banking, financial services, consumer lending or collections environments.

  • Familiarity with Linux, JBoss or WebLogic and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible or GitLab CI/CD.

  • Knowledge of ETL frameworks, data pipelines and integration orchestration tools.

  • Experience with PCC version upgrades, multi-instance environments and environment management.
