The ideal candidate is a strong software developer who can independently own their work, solve problems, communicate effectively, and collaborate well within a small team.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and support applications and backend services using .NET, C#, SQL, and Microsoft technologies.

  • Develop and maintain APIs and system integrations connecting internal applications with third-party mortgage, settlement, and financial services platforms.

  • Develop system plugins and extensions using JavaScript.

  • Work directly with Product Managers, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.

  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.

  • Troubleshoot application and integration issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

  • Take ownership of assigned work from initial design through implementation and production support.

  • Collaborate effectively within a small, cross-functional team and contribute to a culture of shared accountability and continuous learning.

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience building and supporting enterprise applications.

  • Strong development experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript, and SQL Server.

  • Experience developing backend applications, services, APIs, and enterprise system integrations.

  • Experience effectively using modern AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools, to improve development productivity while maintaining strong engineering judgment, code quality, and security.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application development.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team, take ownership of assigned work, and adapt as business priorities evolve.

  • Experience within the mortgage, lending, title, or settlement industry is a plus.

  • Experience developing, integrating with, or supporting the Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS) is a plus.
