Job description
Positions for Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Software Engineer:
Multi-Scale Tumor–Immune Digital Twin & Clinical AI and Treatment Planning Software
We are looking for multiple new team members to develop a treatment planning system that uses systemic immune-response probability as a planning variable. The underlying model infers patient-specific latent tumor-immune states from imaging, circulating tumor DNA, and immune assays, combining mechanistic modules where the biology is established with learned transition models where it is not.
These positions range from software development and deployment with primary output being working clinical software, complemented by publication to mechanistic model design based on experimental data provided by our group.
Candidate Qualifications

PhD in a quantitative discipline (applied mathematics, physics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field).

Demonstrated experience developing and deploying software systems used in production by others, with responsibility for their reliability.

Demonstrated experience developing mechanistic models of biological systems (ordinary differential equation, agent-based, or partial differential equation approaches).

Working knowledge of probabilistic machine learning, including state-space or latent-variable models, Bayesian inference, and uncertainty calibration.

Strong programming ability in Python and the associated scientific computing ecosystem.

Established practice in version control, automated testing, and continuous integration.

Record of peer-reviewed publication and clear scientific writing.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating mechanistic and data-driven modeling approaches.

Familiarity with simulation-based inference, model calibration, or sensitivity and uncertainty analysis.

Background in tumor-immune dynamics, computational immunology, or quantitative systems pharmacology.

Experience with reproducible research practices, including version control and documented, reusable codebases.

Experience with regulated software development (SaMD, IEC 62304, FDA submissions, or equivalent).

Experience deploying large language model and retrieval-augmented generation systems, including evaluation and reliability engineering.

User interface design experience informed by direct engagement with end users.
