About Amca
Amca develops and manufactures critical aviation, military, and infrastructure components and subsystems.
The company operates seven factories nationwide, including an advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo.
Role Overview
The Product Software Engineer identifies operational constraints and builds software that improves throughput, quality, or lead time.
The role combines product management, software engineering, and design with direct engagement across headquarters and factory sites.
The engineer owns problems from discovery through solution design, development, deployment, adoption, and iteration.
Responsibilities
-
Observe factory operations, interview users, identify worthwhile problems, and quantify current-process costs.
-
Evaluate software versus process or workflow changes and own product scope, prioritization, sequencing, and trade-offs.
-
Build end-to-end production software with TypeScript and React on the front end and Go services and data models on the back end.
-
Design interfaces, release usable versions early, gather feedback, and drive adoption and measurable value.
-
Harden successful prototypes into supported products and deliberately retire unsuccessful projects.
Basic Qualifications
-
Four or more years of experience shipping production full-stack software.
-
Production experience with TypeScript and React.
-
Backend service and API development in a typed language with strong data modeling instincts.
-
End-to-end project ownership from problem discovery through deployment, adoption, and iteration.
-
Comfort working directly with non-technical users on a factory floor.
-
Willingness to travel to Amca factory sites across the United States.
Preferred Skills And Experience
-
Full-stack experience with TypeScript, React, Go, Python, or SQL.
-
Experience in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, field operations, or another operations-heavy domain.
-
Strong design sense and ability to create clean, usable interfaces without a designer.
-
SQL proficiency and confidence working through unfamiliar databases.
-
Experience integrating ERP, MES, PLM, or other systems of record.
-
Internal tooling, startup, small-team, aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing experience.
Regulatory Requirement
- The position requires use of ITAR-controlled information, so applicants must qualify as U.S. persons under ITAR.
Compensation
- Annual salary range is $150,000โ$200,000 USD.
