Software Engineering Intern- Summer 2027

Description

Reader Precision Solutions (RPS) is seeking a motivated college student to join our Software Engineering team for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on experience working with real production data, developing software solutions, and creating tools that can make a measurable difference in how our business operates.

The intern will work alongside Software Engineering while collaborating with Production, Continuous Improvement, and other areas of the business. The role also includes exposure to our manufacturing operations so the intern can better understand the real-world problems the technology is helping solve.

Schedule: This position will be 40 hours a week, 7:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday.

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Create dashboards and tracking tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Develop scripts and tools to automate data collection and analysis.

• Work with relational databases and production data.

• Support full-stack development projects using Python and React.

• Partner with Continuous Improvement, Production, and other teams to develop practical data solutions.

• Help turn data into useful information that supports better decision-making.

• Participate in brainstorming and project development and bring your own ideas to the table.

• Gain hands-on experience with software development, data visualization, automation, and business analytics

• Complete an internship project and present findings, recommendations, and results to the Engineering team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, User Experience, or a related field.

• Experience or knowledge in relational databases, Python/full-stack development, and React is preferred.

• Analytical, curious, dependable, and eager to learn.

• Interested in using technology to solve real-world business and manufacturing problems.

• Comfortable working collaboratively with Software Engineering, Production, Continuous Improvement, and other
