Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a part-time software tester who will work alongside a DevOps team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navy's Tomahawk Missile program. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for automating the installation of a large, complex system for multiple hardware configurations and releases. The role has limited opportunity for hybrid work, but is predominantly on-site in Santa Clara, CA.

Your role will involve working with the DevOps team to validate and test installation and deployment updates prior to deployment. This will include performing installations and verifying deployment changes in a development/test environment prior to deployment media being released for installation on TMPC systems and delivery to the customer.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute tests following team/project conventions to verify deployment strategy and media for multiple releases (TMPC 7.0.5, TMPC 8.0.0).

  • Verify updates to the Installation and Setup Procedures (ISP) for changes to the deployment implementation.

  • Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions.

  • Understand TMPC hardware configurations and the applications/capabilities for each configuration.

  • Understand evolving deployment requirements for each of the TMPC configurations.

  • Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks.

  • Follow program processes and procedures.

  • Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g. Spring Planning, Daily Stand-up)

Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Education: 8 years with BS/BA or 6 years with MS/MA

  • Clearance: active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one.

  • 5 years manual testing experience.

  • Experience with DevOps implementation or test strategies.

  • Strong analytical skills, IT skills, including experience working with a virtualized environment, Microsoft Windows, and RedHat Linux.

  • Knowledge of Ansible and Keycloak preferred.

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, including Azure DevOps.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Ability to learn and follow complex processes and procedures.

  • Initiative, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
