About the Client

Our client is a global digital entertainment and streaming media company serving a very large consumer audience across multiple markets. Their engineering organization runs high-traffic, distributed platform services on a multi-cloud footprint, and quality engineering is treated as a first-class discipline rather than a downstream gate. The culture is Agile, collaborative and automation-first: test engineers sit alongside developers, build the tooling that makes the wider engineering team faster, and have real ownership over how quality is measured. There is also active investment in AI-assisted engineering, including AI-governed tooling across the software delivery lifecycle.

About the Role

You will design the testing infrastructure and write the code that validates large-scale software development and deployments across both AWS and Google Cloud Platform. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with developers, you will create tests concurrently with product development and build tools that measurably improve developer productivity. You will anticipate trouble in key platform services, forecasting risk before it reaches production, and help manage the lifecycle of platform components through modernization and accelerated software delivery pipelines. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role for someone who thinks in frameworks and pipelines, not test cases. It is a 12-month renewable contractor engagement, fully remote within LATAM.

Responsibilities

Agile automation:

develop automated tests within every iteration in a collaborative Agile environment.

Core service validation:

design test plans and lead testing for distributed services, ensuring quality and performance across environments.

Cross-cloud validation:

validate release candidates and infrastructure migrations across multiple clouds with rigorous regression testing via CI/CD.

Performance & reliability:

build and execute performance and load tests to verify engineering KPIs for high-traffic platform services.

AI-driven quality:

implement and optimize Java-based unified testing frameworks that leverage AI for complex, extensive SDLC platforms.

Test strategy:

implement tools, infrastructure changes and ad-hoc/exploratory testing to optimize automation for cloud-native services.

Must-Have Skills

• 6+ years of professional software engineering / QA automation experience overall.

• 5+ years building and maintaining Java-based test frameworks (TestNG, Rest Assured, Maven) for API and performance testing.

• Advanced API testing using Java-based frameworks (TestNG, Rest Assured, Maven) or modern equivalents.

• Significant hands-on knowledge of

both

AWS and GCP for managing large-scale service deployments. • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and scripting for validation tooling. • 2+ years leading testing on complex projects with minimal supervision.

• Performance and load testing with tools such as JMeter.

• Investigating platform health with Datadog: log analysis and interpretation of latency metrics (p90/p99). • Professional English, written and spoken.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Deep familiarity with additional CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI.

• Experience with Node.js, Go, and JavaScript-based services (highly preferred). • Familiarity with MongoDB and Apache Kafka.

• Experience with, or strong interest in, testing AI-governed SDLC tools.

• AVOD / streaming media domain experience (strongly preferred).

Conditions

Engagement type:

independent contractor engagement (not direct employment with Andela or with the client).

Payment:

monthly USD via Payoneer or Cadena; you manage your own local taxes.

Work setup:

100% remote.

Time zone:

UTC-5, with a minimum of 5 hours of daily overlap with the client team.

Contract:

12-month contract, renewable subject to business needs and performance.

Commitment:

full-time dedication, 40 hours per week.

Eligibility:

open only to residents of Latin America (LATAM).
