Embedded Software Verification Engineer

Project Summary
This role supports verification testing for embedded real-time software used in aerospace engine control systems. The engineer will develop, modify, and execute test scripts and procedures across multiple verification phases, analyze results, and generate required verification artifacts in accordance with DO-178A Level A processes.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform
V4 Module Testing
by modifying existing test scripts, creating new scripts, generating test procedures, and analyzing results.

Execute
V5 Integrated Module Testing
on integrated module sets and produce required verification artifacts.

Perform
V5 Simulator Path Testing
using the HS1600 simulator, including test execution and results analysis.

Conduct
V5 Closed-Loop Bench Path Testing
using UI-based scripting to execute requirements-based tests.

Develop and execute verification test procedures and scripts across all assigned test phases.

Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and document verification outcomes.

Generate test scripts from software requirements specifications.

Prepare weekly status reports and support program-level meetings.

Work within proprietary industry tool environments and quickly come up to speed through provided on-the-job training.
Required Skills & Experience

Experience with
DO-178A Level A
software development and verification processes.

Strong background in verification testing of embedded real-time software.

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following verification phases:

V4 Module Test

V5 Integrated Module Test

V5 Simulator Path Test

V5 Closed-Loop Bench Path Test

Familiarity with Assembly language.

Experience working with data flow and control flow diagrams.

Experience developing test scripts from software requirements.

Experience using script configuration management tools.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently in proprietary tool environments.
Preferred Experience

Prior experience with electronic engine controls for gas turbine engines.

Aerospace or defense software verification experience.
