Description

The Senior Cost Accountant is primarily responsible for recurring cost and inventory accounting close activities currently performed by the Senior Manager of Cost Accounting or by the Finance Director, Operations. The ideal candidate is interested in process improvement, automation, machine learning, and analytics to reduce manual effort and strengthen data quality.

Requirements

Perform recurring cost and inventory accounting close activities with accountability for timely, accurate results.
Apply cost accounting strategies and prioritize activities effectively.
Develop, maintain, and enforce cost accounting policies and procedures.
Serve as a liaison between cost and inventory accounting team and the external auditors.
Assist in resolving complex cost accounting matters.
Assist with annual physical inventory counts and adjustments in the ERP system.
Champion scalability, automation, analytical, and process optimization initiatives.
Partner effectively with operations, supply chain, finance, and other stakeholders.
Assist with other projects and activities as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

4 to 6+ years of progressive cost accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex cost data and translate insights into actionable improvements.
Experience partnering with operations, supply chain, finance, and external auditors.
Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in Oracle Fusion Cloud preferable but not required.
Strong interest in process improvement, automation, machine learning, and analytics.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA and/or MBA preferred
