Job description

San Francisco, California · On-site

Summary:

A growth-stage company in Greylock’s portfolio is building an agent observability platform that helps teams understand how their AI systems behave in production and improve them over time.

As the company grows across enterprise and self-serve customers, it’s hiring a Data Engineer to build and own the data infrastructure behind its business operations. The warehouse already has solid foundations. This role will build the systems that turn customer and product data into account scoring, routing, enrichment, and automated workflows across Sales, RevOps, Marketing, and Finance.

This is a hands-on, solo role for now, with ownership across architecture, implementation, and reliability. You’ll also build the clean data, context, and feedback loops that future GTM agents will use for account research, call preparation, and follow-up.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build a unified customer data platform that connects accounts, events, and signals across Salesforce, product, and marketing sources

  • Design queues, workers, and data models that power enrichment, account scoring, routing, and activation

  • Make automated account assignment decisions explainable, reversible, and auditable

  • Integrate vendor APIs, webhooks, and external data sources across CRM, sales engagement, advertising, and enrichment systems

  • Deliver customer signals into Salesforce and Slack so teams can act on risks and opportunities

  • Partner with Product and Engineering on usage data, event schemas, and data contracts

  • Build row- and column-level access controls into the data model

  • Own debugging and reliability across pipelines, integrations, and downstream business systems

Where You’ll Work in the Stack:

  • Ingestion: Product, CRM, marketing, and vendor data; APIs, webhooks, and Fivetran

  • Processing: Queues, workers, stateful jobs, and orchestration using Dagster or comparable tools

  • Storage and modeling: Snowflake, dbt, identity resolution, and governed account, event, and signal models

  • Activation: Reverse ETL, Salesforce integrations, Slack digests, and account scoring and routing

  • AI workflows: Structured context and feedback loops for agents supporting GTM operations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience building and operating data platforms, backend systems, workflow engines, or data/ML infrastructure

  • Deep expertise with Snowflake, dbt, and an orchestrator such as Dagster or Airflow

  • Strong production coding skills, including experience with queues, workers, and stateful jobs

  • Sound judgment around data modeling, schema evolution, contracts, and lineage

  • Strong debugging skills across vendor integrations, data pipelines, and downstream systems

  • Understanding of how Sales, RevOps, and Marketing teams operate

  • Ability to translate business requests into reusable systems

  • Comfort working independently and balancing foundational architecture with urgent business needs

Signals We’re Especially Excited About:

  • You’ve built a customer data platform, account scoring or routing engine, or activation layer

  • You’ve supported a business with both self-serve and enterprise sales motions

  • You understand usage-based pricing, consumption models, or product-led growth

  • You’ve built or used AI agents for research, enrichment, or internal workflow automation

  • You’ve owned systems end to end and care whether the people using their outputs trust them

Why This Role:

  • Own the data infrastructure behind a growing AI company’s business operations

  • Build on an established warehouse foundation while defining the activation layer

  • Work directly with Product, Engineering, Sales, RevOps, Marketing, and Finance

  • Shape how AI agents become part of everyday GTM workflows

  • Build systems that can evolve from solo ownership into a broader business-systems function
