Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Camunda BPM and workflow automation to design, develop, and support business process automation that modernizes Workplace Investing operations. The role requires proficiency in workflow orchestration, BPMN, Java, and cloud-ready design to deliver scalable solutions that improve efficiency, resiliency, and customer experience. You will partner with product, architecture, and engineering teams to build reusable services and integrations that enable end-to-end automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support workflow automation solutions using Camunda and Java-based technologies.

  • Create and maintain BPMN workflows, process orchestrations, business rules, and workflow integrations.

  • Analyze business processes and translate requirements into scalable automation solutions in partnership with product and operations teams.

  • Develop REST APIs, microservices, and backend services integrating with enterprise platforms.

  • Participate across the SDLC including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

  • Troubleshoot workflow and application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable workflow applications.

  • Advance modernization through cloud-native patterns and engineering best practices.

  • Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily huddles, and retrospectives.

  • Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development with Java and Spring Boot.

  • 3+ years hands-on with Camunda designing and building workflow solutions. Camunda 7 experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of BPMN 2.0, workflow orchestration, and process lifecycle management.

  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating enterprise applications.

  • Relational databases and SQL proficiency.

  • Strong OOP, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

  • Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.

  • Preferred: Java Delegates, External Tasks, Execution Listeners, Kafka, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Form.io or similar, workflow migration and modernization, financial services domain, Camunda or equivalent BPM certification.

  • Core competencies: analysis of complex processes, ownership mindset, collaboration, continuous learning, strong organization, and commitment to quality.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
