Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure
Full-Time | Remote, Greater Boston Area Preferred
Overview
IntePros is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to join a growing international engineering organization responsible for building and evolving the cloud platform behind large-scale data products.
This is a hands-on infrastructure and platform engineering position focused on the design, implementation, deployment, reliability, security, and operation of cloud infrastructure
. The engineer will work within a small infrastructure team while collaborating closely with Engineering, IT, Security, Product, and other business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Python, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and cloud platform engineering
, along with an interest in building infrastructure that allows engineering teams to operate efficiently and independently.
What You'll Do

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services.

Build infrastructure capabilities that provide engineering teams with a consistent, self-service platform experience.

Design cloud infrastructure with a focus on performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and security.

Implement and improve observability strategies that proactively identify production issues.

Build and maintain deployment, monitoring, alerting, and backup capabilities.

Partner with security leadership to plan and test disaster recovery and backup strategies.

Implement and maintain infrastructure supporting compliance requirements, including data catalogs and access controls.

Partner with Security and IT teams to maintain compliance with company and industry standards.

Help the organization achieve and maintain required certifications.

Support engineers with infrastructure and platform-related questions.

Mentor and guide other engineers while promoting strong engineering practices.

Participate in an out-of-hours support rotation.

Document engineering decisions, architectures, infrastructure, and data processes.

Evaluate new technologies and continuously improve platform reliability and developer experience.
What We're Looking For

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience working within the Kubernetes ecosystem.

Strong Python engineering experience.

Experience managing cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake.

Strong understanding of modern Infrastructure as Code principles.

Experience with Terraform and/or Pulumi.

Knowledge of cloud security, performance, observability, disaster recovery, backup, and compliance best practices.

Experience designing infrastructure that supports multiple engineering teams.

Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Security, IT, Product, and other business functions.
Nice to Have

Previous experience working on a dedicated Infrastructure or Platform Engineering team.

Experience building self-service platform capabilities that reduce manual engineering work.

Experience with privacy, security, and compliance requirements.

Experience with data classification and cataloging platforms.

Experience with Atlan or similar data governance technologies.

Experience working directly with security leadership or external compliance stakeholders.

Experience mentoring engineers or taking on technical leadership responsibilities.
