Job description

Job Summary (SRE/DevOps Engineer Chicago, IL)

  • Design, build, configure, and support enterprise CI/CD delivery solutions for Java, .NET, Python, database, and Hadoop applications across both traditional and cloud-native environments.

  • Configure and maintain CI/CD workflows, including naming conventions, security controls, approval processes, and artifact management.

  • Enable application teams to adopt CI/CD automation and reduce manual deployment steps.

  • Lead migrations from Digital.ai Release (XLR) to Harness and from Bitbucket pipelines to GitHub Actions.

  • Develop and maintain multi-branch pipelines, reusable workflows, shared libraries, and standardized deployment frameworks.

  • Implement consistent Git branching, pull request, release management, and environment-promotion practices.

  • Troubleshoot end-to-end pipeline, package, deployment, and environment issues.

  • Integrate automated testing, code quality checks (SonarQube), security scanning, approval workflows, secrets management, and artifact repositories into pipelines.

  • Automate deployment, validation, rollback, and release-verification activities for supported platforms.

  • Collaborate with development and release teams to migrate applications, resolve deployment issues, and support application releases.

  • Manage and configure secrets (Vault), credential rotation, certificate provisioning/renewal, truststore management, and PKI integrations for secure deployments.

  • Support Kerberos authentication and keytab management for secure service-to-service communication.

  • Utilize scripting languages (Groovy, Python, Bash, PowerShell) to build automation and monitoring utilities for CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and operational metrics.

  • Configure and manage artifact repositories (Artifactory/Nexus) and use tools like Ansible for deployment automation.

  • Deploy and support applications on platforms including WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, IIS, containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

  • Implement and utilize monitoring solutions (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana) to ensure application and pipeline health.

  • (Preferred) Design CI/CD solutions for MuleSoft APIs, Pega, and other enterprise integration/workflow platforms.

  • (Preferred) Embed policy, compliance, and governance controls into pipelines.

  • (Preferred) Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
