We are a client focused technology company seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 3 to 5 years of public accounting experience who is comfortable working independently across tax, accounting, financial reporting, and client service responsibilities.

This is a remote opportunity for a detail oriented accounting professional who can manage priorities effectively, communicate clearly, and deliver accurate work while collaborating with team members in a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for partnerships and S corporations

  • Prepare individual income tax returns as needed

  • Perform bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation for small and mid sized business clients

  • Review general ledger activity, identify accounting discrepancies, and prepare appropriate adjusting entries

  • Maintain accurate accounting records using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual payroll tax filings

  • Manage assigned projects and accounting responsibilities while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Collaborate with leadership and team members on tax, accounting, reporting, and special projects....

  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholdes and support ongoing client and business needs in a remote work environment

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of public accounting experience required

  • Experience preparing partnership and S corporation tax returns

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online

  • Experience with quartely and annual payroll tax reporting

  • Ability to identify accounting issues and make appropriate corrections and adjusting entries

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to independently manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines in a remote setting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Client-service mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities

  • CPA license or progress toward CPA licensure is a plus, but not required
