Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated full time onsite Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting

  • Prepare and record journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Analyze financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.

  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.

  • Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.

  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.

  • Support internal and external audit requests.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.

Tax Preparation & Compliance

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and S corporations.

  • Gather, organize, and review client financial information and tax documents.

  • Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules.

  • Research tax issues and assist with tax planning opportunities for clients.

  • Communicate with clients regarding missing information, tax notices, and filing requirements.

  • Ensure tax returns are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.

  • Assist with payroll tax, sales tax, and business property tax compliance.

  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations.

  • Support tax season workflow by managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.

Client Service

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.

  • Respond professionally and timely to client inquiries.

  • Assist clients with accounting software questions and bookkeeping matters.

  • Collaborate with managers and partners to deliver exceptional client service.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred

  • CPA candidate.

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Thomson Reuters, or similar ERP systems.

  • Public accounting experience.

  • Experience working with multiple clients or entities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong financial analysis and reconciliation skills.

  • Ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Strong customer service mindset when interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
