What You’ll Do
The Staff Accountant supports accounting and tax functions across a variety of client engagements while developing a strong technical foundation in financial reporting, tax compliance, and client service. This role works closely with senior team members to ensure accurate financial records, timely completion of accounting activities, and quality service delivery. The Staff Accountant is ideal for an early-career professional seeking broad exposure and professional growth within a public accounting environment.

Prepare and post routine journal entries to the general ledger.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.

Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and related accounting activities.

Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules.

Assist with the preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, and other business tax returns.

Gather, organize, and validate financial data and documentation required for tax compliance activities.

Support tax research projects and compliance initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.

Assist with responses to tax notices, audit requests, and other regulatory inquiries.

Collaborate with Accountants and Senior Accountants on client engagements and special projects.

Communicate effectively with internal team members to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.

Continue developing technical accounting and tax knowledge through hands-on experience, training, and professional development opportunities.

Support process improvement efforts and contribute to maintaining efficient workflows and high-quality client service.
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

0-2 years of accounting, tax, or related experience; internship experience is a plus.

Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems preferred.

Exposure to tax preparation software and tax compliance processes is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Base salary of $65,000-$70,000 plus discretionary bonus (exact base salary amount will be dependent on experience)
