Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, processing accounting transactions, and supporting financial reporting. The Staff Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager, Finance team, and other departments to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00 - $25.00.

Responsibilities

Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other accounting transactions.

Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations.

Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper coding.

Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.

Assist with cash reconciliation and cash management activities.

Monitor and research accounting discrepancies and make corrections as needed.

Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Assist with tracking expenses and analyzing budget-to-actual variances.

Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

Assist with audits by providing requested schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.

Assist with fixed asset tracking and reconciliation.

Support payroll accounting and reconciliation as needed.

Assist with invoice review, coding, and processing.

Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.

Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

1โ3 years of accounting experience; relevant internship experience may be considered.

Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
