We are currently searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team.  This is a hybrid role based in our Chaska, MN headquarters. Three day in-office requirement (Tues/Wed/Thursday weekly). The ideal candidate will currently reside in the Twin Cities Greater Metropolitan area.  There is no relocation offered for this role.

JOB SUMMARY

The  Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of financial information to the general ledger and supports the Controller in achieving departmental goals and objectives.  This role must meet tight deadlines around month, quarter and year end close, and support the year-end audit. The incumbent’s responsibilities will include accounting duties in General Accounting and Treasury. The position addresses a multitude of activities throughout financial disciplines including supporting account reconciliation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Month end close including:

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Foreign entity accounting responsibility (including exchange rates & intercompany transactions)

  • Reconciliation roll forward

  • Adjusting journal entries

  • Revaluation journal entries

  • Accruals

  • Prepaids

  • Fixed Assets

  • Review expense JEs for correct accounts and projects

  • Prepare and review sub-ledger to trial balance reconciliation

  • Prepare company operating expense analysis report

  • External Audit preparation and documentation

  • Other daily reporting responsibilities supporting the business

  • Lead in preparation of foreign entity financial audit and annual tax filing obligations

  • Collaborates with other members of the finance group to support overall department goals and objectives

  • Compile information and file quarterly tax returns for foreign entities

  • Prepare monthly sales reports and assist with monthly sales and use tax returns

  • File company annual reports

  • Assist in preparation and filing of federal census reports

  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

  • Reports to the Controller

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 0-4 years of related accounting work experience, preferred

  • Intermediary knowledge of accounting practices and procedures

  • Financial analysis experience with ability to analytically problem solve

  • Extremely accurate, curious and analytical

  • Ability to multitask and solve problems using good judgment

  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence and work well across multiple functions

  • Strong learning agility with ability to grasp concepts quickly with limited supervision or direction

  • Great team player, can work well with individuals in all departments across the company
