Senior / Staff Platform Security Engineer

Colossus Technologies Group is partnering with a rapidly growing financial technology company to build out a highly technical Platform Security organization.

We’re looking for security-minded software engineers who want to build the systems, tooling and guardrails that secure a large-scale cloud production environment.

This is not a traditional cloud security or DevSecOps position. The strongest candidates will be engineers who can write production software, understand cloud infrastructure deeply and build security capabilities rather than simply configure security products.

What you’ll work on:

Building security services and internal tooling in Python and/or Go
Securing large-scale AWS environments and cloud-native infrastructure
Kubernetes and container security
IAM, authentication, authorization and least-privilege architecture
Infrastructure-as-code security and automated policy enforcement
Security controls embedded into CI/CD and engineering workflows
Vulnerability detection, prioritization and automated remediation
Developing scalable security guardrails for engineering teams
Applying AI and automation to cloud security, vulnerability management and detection
Designing security systems that are reliable enough to operate as production infrastructure

What we’re looking for:

Strong software engineering fundamentals
Production experience with Python, Go or another modern backend language
Deep AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure experience
Experience building security systems, platforms or automation
Understanding of distributed systems and production infrastructure
Experience with Kubernetes, containers and modern deployment environments
Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code experience
Ability to own a technical problem from architecture through production
