Job description
About Redo
Redo is the ecommerce post-purchase platform for returns, managed returns, shipping/fulfillment, OMS, warranties, and AI support - used by 4,500+ brands. We're hiring for our Reverse Logistics Cloud.
We're not looking for someone who wants a normal engineering job. We want people who push to find out what they're capable of, who want to be surrounded by teammates who make them question if they can keep up, who set goals other people would laugh at and get fired up instead of scared off. If you want outsized rewards for outsized contribution, and you run at hard problems instead of away from them, you might be a Redo person.
About the role
Set technical direction for the Reverse Logistics Cloud. Staff means architecture for returns, managed returns, and logistics integrations - plus unblocking seniors and making the GM's roadmap executable. We hire for root-cause thinkers who make the right tradeoffs, not surface patches.
How we work
In-office in Draper, 5 days/week. High-output culture: long days, tight collaboration, occasional weekend push when shipping matters. We want people who lean into that.
What you'll do
-
Own architecture for return lifecycle, disposition, WMS/3PL sync, inventory correctness with OMS
-
Lead high-stakes integrations where correctness and latency both matter
-
Break ambiguous problems into work other engineers can execute
-
Raise quality across the cloud: standards, reviews, reliability
-
Mentor seniors; multiply the team through design docs and clear decisions
-
Grow leadership capacity as we scale eng teams
What we're looking for
-
7-10+ years building production systems; senior+ scope for several years
-
Deep full-stack + backend (TypeScript / Node.js / React / AWS or equivalent)
-
Complex multi-system integrations (WMS, 3PL, ERP/OMS, ecommerce)
-
Architecture ownership across a product area
-
Strong written communication
-
Bonus: reverse logistics, high-volume ecommerce ops, prior staff/principal IC work
Compensation: $200K-$260K, plus equity, and benefits (flexible PTO, HSA contributions, Redo merchant perks, on-site gym, weekly lunches, and more).
Pay: $200,000.00 - $260,000.00 per year
Benefits:
-
Dental insurance
-
Health insurance
-
Health savings account
-
Paid time off
-
Parental leave
-
Relocation assistance
-
Vision insurance
Application Question(s):
-
In-office requirement: This role requires working in person from our Draper, Utah office five days per week. This is a firm requirement, not hybrid or remote. Relocation assistance is available. Are you able and willing to meet this requirement?
-
Work environment: Redo is a fast-paced, high-growth startup with difficult problems and ambitious goals. We work with intensity, move quickly, and expect exceptional ownership and contribution. This is not a "rest and vest" environment. Is this the kind of environment in which you want to work?
-
Interview process: Our technical interview process is intentionally rigorous and highly selective. It includes writing and explaining code without AI assistance, solving a challenging algorithmic problem on a whiteboard, detailing how you use AI to increase your productivity, and demonstrating a track record of exceptional professional outcomes. Are you confident in your abilities to meet these requirements?
-
This role is in-office in Draper, UT, 5 days/week. Are you able and willing to work from that office full-time? (Yes / No)
-
If you're not already in the Salt Lake / Utah County area, are you willing to relocate? (Yes / Already local / No)
-
Redo's eng culture is high-output: long days, in-office collaboration, and occasional weekend push when it matters. Is that how you want to work? (Yes - that's what I want / Prefer standard hours & remote-heavy / Not a fit)
-
We're hiring people who can grow into technical leads as we scale. Are you aiming for that kind of scope in the next 1-2 years? (Yes / Prefer pure IC / Unsure)
-
Which level are you targeting? (Senior / Staff / Not sure)
-
Pattern of excellence: In 4-5 sentences, describe a domain where you've been top-tier for years - work, sports, music, school, anything. What made you excellent there, and what's one concrete proof someone else would recognize?
-
Staff bar: What's something you've been elite at for a long time? Walk through how you got there - the boring reps, not the highlight reel.
Work Location: In person
