Job description

  • The platform offers targeted promotions, flexible budget options and detailed reporting to help brands grow their reach and engage loyal customers

  • Use new and modern technology to build new features and services across our microservice architecture

  • Write thoughtful & quality code that is readable, testable, and easily maintainable

  • Create data-driven and stable APIs for our mobile apps to consume

  • Strive for excellent development practices and careful code architecture that is built around rapid releases

  • Work cross-functionally with all mobile and backend engineers, and product teams to consistently release high-quality, customer-focused features

  • Adhere to, and improve upon, our agile process through requirement documents, sprint retrospectives, and other regular cadence meetings- Experience with Microservice or Service-oriented Architectures

  • Experience with working with relational databases

  • 6+ years of experience building backend services with 2+ of those years in a technical leadership capacity (mentoring junior engineers, scoping technical projects, etc.)

  • Experience with message queues or event streams

  • Experience using gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL

  • Experience proactively working with modern AI-enhanced development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) and a curiosity for emerging AI workflows

  • Experience building within the Node.js ecosystem

  • Experience in the financial and rewards tech industry is a plus

  • Experience managing AWS environments (GCP is a plus)

  • You’ve been complimented on how well you participate in an open feedback environment

  • You are energized by working in high-throughput environments where stability, speed, and customer experience are equally important

  • You have a willingness to learn and teach in a collaborative environment

  • You are excited to architect and build microservices using Node.js and Go

  • You love working closely with product teams to identify the best way to deliver great customer experiences and pursue new revenue opportunities
