Who We Are
HII ā Mission Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer/Architect. The Data Engineer/Architect provides onāsite technical expertise to design, implement, and sustain advanced dataāintegration solutions supporting mission partner requirements. This role defines and applies methodologies for data mapping, ETL processes, and enhanced dataāintegration strategies to enable seamless interoperability across diverse data environments. The analyst develops tools to import and integrate data from disparate commercial, defense, structured, and unstructured sources, ensuring compatibility and optimal utility for missionāpartner systems. Additionally, this position advises on architectural transformations required to support evolving dataāingestion needs and facilitates technical collaboration to define and document dataāexchange requirements.
This requisition supports hiring at multiple experience levels. Final placement will be determined based on the selected applicantās qualifications, experience, and skill sets.

What You Will Do

Define, implement, and refine methodologies for data mapping, ETL workflows, and enhanced dataāintegration strategies to support missionāpartner objectives.

Develop tools and solutions that enable ingestion of data from disparate commercial, defense, structured, and unstructured data sources.

Ensure imported data aligns with missionāpartner system requirements and maintains compatibility, quality, and utility.
-
Provide technical guidance on architectural and system transformations necessary to support evolving dataāingestion demands.

Facilitate missionāpartner efforts to develop, refine, and document dataāingestion and dataāexchange requirements.
-
Translate technical specifications into actionable guidance for dataāintegration planning, implementation, and optimization.

Support troubleshooting, dataāpipeline management, and ongoing enhancement of ingestion workflows.

Work collaboratively with technical teams, analysts, and mission stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet operational and performance needs.
What We Are Looking For

Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.

Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Experience with ETL development, data mapping, and dataāpipeline engineering.

Proficiency with dataāintegration tools, frameworks, and ingestion technologies (specific tools can be added upon request).

Experience developing or automating ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets.

Strong understanding of database technologies, data modeling, and dataāarchitecture principles.

Ability to develop custom ingestion tools or scripts to integrate data from heterogeneous sources.

Familiarity with commercial and defenseārelated data platforms and standards.

Strong problemāsolving skills and ability to translate mission requirements into technical dataāengineering solutions.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with mission partners and documenting technical specifications.

Ability to work independently and within crossāfunctional teams in a fastāpaced, missionādriven environment.

Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
