Job description

  • Support proposal activities as well as the preparation of programmatic and technical documentation

  • Translate scientific requirements into research instruments and facilities in close collaboration with scientific partners and space agencies

  • Contribute to multiple engineering aspects of the projects, including the development of electrical architectures and related subsystem designs

  • Perform requirements analysis, design, verification, and AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) activities

  • Support manufacturing, assembly, and test campaigns, including hands-on work with spaceflight hardware

  • Contribute to mission support activities such as mission preparation, live operations support from the Ground Control Station, anomaly investigation and recovery, as well as post-processing of mission data

  • Depending on the mission profile and destination (e.g. sounding rockets, ISS, free-flyers, or future space stations), support launch site activities and participate in mission-style campaign operations, including travel as required

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical qualification

  • Experience in PCB development

  • Good understanding of Linux-based operating systems as well as software source code in C and Python

  • Initial project engineering experience, ideally in the space sector or another process-driven industry such as automotive

  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
