Tender & Estimation Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tender & Estimation Engineer to join our growing team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the tendering and cost estimation process from initial review through final submission, ensuring that all technical and commercial proposals are accurate, competitive, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction activities, excellent cost-analysis skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal departments. The ideal candidate should be capable of reviewing complex tender documents, identifying project risks and opportunities, and developing competitive pricing strategies while maintaining the required quality and commercial standards.

Currently based in Saudi Arabia or GCC.

Experience with major building, infrastructure, commercial, residential, fit-out, or general contracting projects.

Familiar with supplier and subcontractor networks within KSA.

Available to join within a reasonable notice period.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related Engineering discipline.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Tendering, Estimation, Costing, or Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.

Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC construction projects is highly preferred.Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, manpower productivity, equipment requirements, and subcontracting works.

Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, and cost estimation.Familiarity with KSA construction standards, specifications, tendering procedures, and local market pricing is an advantage.

Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant estimation/tendering software.Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple tenders simultaneously and work effectively under strict submission deadlines.Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Applicant Responsibilities

Review tender invitations, drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope of work, and contractual requirements.Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive project cost estimates.Estimate costs for materials, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, preliminaries, overheads, and other project requirements.

Prepare complete technical and commercial tender submissions within required deadlines.Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.

Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison statements.

Prepare pricing breakdowns, cost analyses, and tender summaries for management review.Identify tender risks, exclusions, clarifications, assumptions, and commercial considerations.

Conduct value engineering and cost optimization without compromising project quality or specifications.Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Planning, Finance, and Management during tender preparation.

Attend tender clarification meetings, site visits, and pre-bid meetings when required.Assist management during tender negotiations and commercial discussions.Maintain updated databases for material prices, labor rates, equipment costs, subcontractor rates, and historical project data.

Prepare proper tender handover documentation for awarded projects to the Project and Operations teams.Monitor market trends and construction pricing within the Saudi Arabian market.
