UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

We are currently looking for experienced and result-driven candidate for the position of Underground Electrical Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will oversee and maintain underground mine electrical systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation while leading maintenance activities to minimize downtime and achieve production targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

•

Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are maintained.

•

Manages the day-to-day operations of underground electrical maintenance activities.

•

Supervise and maintain underground electrical installations, power distribution networks, cables, transformers, switchgear, and electrical panels.

•

Ensures continuous and reliable power supply for underground mining equipment and machinery, including Jumbo Drills, LHDs, mine lightning system, motors, pumps, ventilation fans.

•

Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.

•

Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.

•

Inspect underground electrical systems and ensure compliance with approved procedures, technical specifications, and applicable safety regulations.

•

Ensure proper implementation of lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical isolation, grounding, and other electrical safety procedures.

•

Monitor electrical load distribution, power consumption, and equipment performance.

•

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, breakdowns, and spare parts while identifying recurring equipment failures, developing effective solutions, and ensuring their implementation.

•

Supports the development and training of local nationals by providing mentorship, guidance, and coaching, leading to their growth and development.

QUALIFICATION:

•

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

•

At least 5+ years experience in underground mine electrical maintenance.

•

Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, protection systems, motor control, and underground mining electrical equipment.

•

Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, MS Office applications and maintenance management Software/Program.

•

Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
