Vice President of Engineering

Role Description

The Vice President of Engineering is a part-time, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing all engineering activities that support Stanford Properties’ technology and digital platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding the engineering strategy, managing software development initiatives, and ensuring that systems are reliable, scalable, and secure. The role involves collaborating with product, operations, and business stakeholders to prioritize technology projects aligned with company goals. This position also includes mentoring engineering team members, establishing best practices, and monitoring project progress, timelines, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills to direct and develop high-performing engineering teams.

• Candidates should possess Software Development experience to oversee technical design, implementation, and integration of systems and tools.

• Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities to coordinate resources, manage timelines, and deliver technology initiatives effectively.

• Candidates should possess Product Development skills to collaborate on product roadmaps and ensure engineering solutions meet business and user needs.

• Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, ideally as a Director or VP of Engineering.

• Background in building or supporting technology platforms for services or real estate businesses is beneficial.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
