The reason most bold resume headers fail is that they keep being bold — a colour band, then colour headings, then colour bullets, and the reader stops being able to tell what is emphasis. Ink Block makes exactly one loud move and then reverts to plain black-on-white for the rest of the page. The bar functions as a nameplate, not as decoration.

The bar takes the colour you pick in the design panel, and the type on it is computed from that fill rather than assumed to be white — pick a pale accent and the name flips to near-black automatically instead of vanishing. That is the difference between a design that supports a colour picker and one that only pretends to.

Full-bleed solid fills print heavy: on an office laser printer that bar is a lot of toner, and a few employer print pipelines drop background colour entirely, which leaves the name set in white on white. If you know your resume will be printed rather than read on screen, or you are submitting into a portal that flattens colour unpredictably, Classic or Broadsheet are safer. The bar also costs roughly two inches of page one — dense histories will want Compact.
