Job description
About BlueCat AI
BlueCat AI is a learning product for children aged 8โ12, built around one goal: helping children become empowered by AI, rather than led by it.
Through interactive stories, investigation, evidence gathering, decision-making, and reflection, BlueCat helps children build critical thinking, judgement, and confidence in how they engage with AI.
PRODUCT MANAGER:
We are looking for a product manager to oversee the direction, priorities, and delivery of BlueCat AI from MVP through launch and ongoing development. You will be responsible for maintaining a clear answer to what we are building, why we are building it, who it is for, and how we will know it works.
Working across product, learning, UX/UI, coding, safeguarding, and external partners, you translate BlueCat's vision and learning framework into a coherent roadmap, clear product requirements, and an executable delivery plan. This is a hands-on product management role requiring strong judgment, prioritization, specification, and cross-functional coordination.
Key responsibilities
-
Manage the product roadmap, MVP scope, priorities, and release plan.
-
Translate BlueCat's vision and approved learning framework into clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
-
Maintain the authoritative product specification and ensure teams are aligned on what is being built.
-
Balance child needs, learning value, safety, technical feasibility, business priorities, and delivery commitments.
-
Define product outcomes and success measures, and use research, testing, and product data to guide iteration.
-
Work closely with UX/UI to ensure user flows and interactions meet product requirements
-
while allowing design ownership of the solution.
-
Work closely with the learning specialist to ensure learning objectives, AI vulnerability themes, and age progression are correctly represented in the product.
-
Coordinate engineering, design, learning content, and other aspects through planning, delivery, and release.
-
Identify dependencies, product risks, edge cases, and unresolved decisions early and drive them to resolution.
-
Review delivered work against approved requirements and coordinate release readiness and acceptance.
-
Ensure safeguarding, privacy, and compliance requirements are incorporated into the product and reviewed by the appropriate specialists.
-
Support user research and testing with children, parents, and educators, and translate findings into product decisions.
-
Maintain consistency across the digital platform, learning scenarios, and future product extensions, including physical or robot-based experiences.
What we are looking for:
-
5โ8 years of experience in product design, including products taken from concept to live production.
-
Strong experience in product management, product development, or digital.
-
Experience in product strategy, roadmaps, MVP scope, and requirements.
-
Strong product judgement and prioritisation skills.
-
Experience working closely with UX/UI, coders, and multidisciplinary teams.
-
Strong understanding of user research, usability testing, analytics, and evidence-based iteration.
-
Strong written communication and experience producing clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
-
Sufficient technical literacy to work effectively with developers, understand constraints, investigate issues, and make informed product decisions.
-
Ability to work confidently in ambiguity and make decisions without over-escalating.
-
Strong stakeholder and management skills.
-
Fluent in English and Arabic (is an asset).
-
Experience in children's products, EdTech, interactive learning, AI-enabled products, safeguarding sensitive products, or milestone-driven projects would be a strong advantage.
