Visa & sponsorship

Job description
You will be the senior engineer responsible for our mobile applications on iOS and Android. The role has two sides. Development: you own the Flutter apps end to end, from architecture and new features to releases on the App Store and Google Play. Quality: you own testing and QA / QC, you find and fix bugs, and you approve every release before it goes out. You will work full time with our team in Doha.
What you will build
-
Own the Flutter apps for iOS and Android: architecture, code quality, releases.
-
Lead the delivery of our Flutter apps to production, and manage app upgrades smoothly for existing users.
-
Build fast, reliable real-time features that stay correct under heavy use and on weak connections.
-
Build every screen in Arabic and English, right to left and left to right.
-
Integrate the apps with REST APIs and third-party services such as payments, messaging and push notifications.
-
Maintain and extend our internal Android apps.
-
Build in security from the start: secure storage, protection of personal data, secure sign-in.
-
Publish to the App Store and Google Play: signing, store review, staged roll-out.
-
Guide and mentor the mobile developers in the team; plan and estimate with the project manager.
What you will test (QA / QC)
-
Own the quality of every mobile release: nothing goes out before it has passed your checks.
-
Write the test plan and the test cases for each release, and run functional, regression and acceptance tests on real iPhones and Android phones, in Arabic and English.
-
Find, reproduce and fix bugs. Write clear bug reports with steps, logs and screen recordings, in English or Arabic, and follow each bug until the fix is confirmed.
-
Build automated tests (unit, widget and integration) and run them on every build.
-
Test the hard cases on purpose: weak and lost connections, older phones and system versions, payments, sign-in and notifications.
-
Test the APIs the apps depend on, and work with the back-end team on defects.
-
Watch crash reports and user reviews after each release and act on them.
-
Set the quality rules for the mobile team: definition of done, release checklist, bug severity levels.
What you bring: development
-
5 or more years of professional mobile development, with at least 3 years of Flutter and Dart in production.
-
Apps you built yourself that are live on both the App Store and Google Play.
-
Strong state management with BLoC and a clean, layered architecture.
-
Native experience on at least one platform (Kotlin or Java on Android, Swift on iOS), including platform channels and native SDKs.
-
REST API integration, token-based authentication and secure storage on the device.
-
Real-time features and push notifications (WebSocket or a real-time messaging service, Firebase Cloud Messaging), and apps that behave well on a weak connection.
-
Experience delivering a major app rewrite or migration, including moving existing users across.
-
Experience building right-to-left, bilingual interfaces.
-
Release management on both stores: signing, provisioning, store review, staged roll-out.
-
In-app payments: payment gateway integration and secure handling of transactions.
What you bring: testing and QA / QC
-
Proven hands-on bug testing and QA / QC of mobile apps, alongside your development work.
-
Test plans, test cases and regression testing on real devices, across iOS and Android versions and screen sizes.
-
Clear bug reporting and bug tracking in a tool such as Linear or Jira: steps to reproduce, expected and actual result, device, evidence, severity.
-
Automated testing in Flutter (unit, widget and integration tests), run in CI (GitLab CI, Fastlane or similar).
-
Strong debugging: Flutter DevTools, logs, crash reports (Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics), performance and memory profiling.
-
API testing with Postman or a similar tool.
Languages
- Arabic and English, both read, written and spoken. You will build and test Arabic screens, read users' reports in Arabic and explain problems to non-technical colleagues.
Good to have
-
Both native platforms (Swift and Kotlin).
-
Auction, marketplace or fintech products.
-
Test automation tools (Patrol, Maestro or Appium) and device farms (Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack).
-
A testing certificate such as ISTQB.
-
Experience with government or enterprise clients, or under security standards such as ISO 27001.
-
Apps that use the camera: photo capture and upload, document scanning.
-
Earlier experience as a technical lead.
Our stack
Flutter, Dart, BLoC · REST APIs · Firebase Cloud Messaging · GitLab CI, Sentry.
Terms
- Full time, based in Doha.
