Senior Solutions Architect – Datacenter, Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure

Job Purpose

Design, implement, and deliver complex datacenter and hybrid-cloud solutions encompassing virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, containers, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and AI infrastructure. Provide technical leadership in solution architecture, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to drive successful deployments, migrations, and post-implementation support for mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

● Design, install, configure, and administer virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, SRM, NSX, and Nutanix AHV.

● Deploy and manage Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and Nutanix AI (NAI) for container orchestration and GPU-accelerated/AI workloads.

● Deploy and administer Nutanix Files, Nutanix Objects, Protection Domains/Groups, snapshots, and replication for business continuity.

● Install, configure, and administer Red Hat OpenShift (including air-gapped environments), covering node provisioning, SDN/OVN-Kubernetes networking, and storage integration.

● Build and maintain GitOps CI/CD pipelines for automated application delivery.

● Automate infrastructure operations using Red Hat Ansible and Satellite for provisioning and patch management.

● Architect and implement disaster recovery strategies using Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Tape, Zerto, Commvault, and EMC Networker, including SRM protection plan configuration.

● Deploy and manage enterprise storage solutions (HPE 3PAR, Primera, MSA, StoreOnce) and SAN switch zoning (Brocade/Cisco/MDS).

● Lead implementation/Upgrade of HPE Synergy, C7000, DL Series servers, and OneView, including firmware upgrades and capacity planning.

● Administer Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, SUSE) and HP-UX environments, including Pacemaker/Red Hat HA clustering and LVM management.

● Integrate and configure backup for Linux, UNIX, Windows, NFS, VMware, Hyper-V, Office 365, and Nutanix workloads.

● Plan and execute end-to-end data migration and modernization projects — server, storage, database, and workload migrations (including P2V via tools like Nutanix Move) — with minimal downtime and defined rollback strategies.

● Conduct infrastructure health checks, performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting across virtualization, storage, backup, and cloud-native platforms.

● Prepare technical documentation, as-built diagrams, migration runbooks, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for stakeholders.

● Perform day-to-day troubleshooting and issue resolution for client backup jobs, storage systems, and related infrastructure, ensuring timely closure of incidents and SLA compliance.

● Perform periodic application-level and item-level restore testing (e.g., databases, file systems, mailboxes, VMs) to validate backup integrity and recoverability, and document test results.

● Prepare Statements of Work (SOW), Service Level Agreements (SLA), and other technical/commercial documentation for new client projects and engagements.

Job SpecificationsEducation

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

12–16 years in datacenter solutions, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data migration; hands-on exposure to containers, automation, and AI infrastructure preferred.

● Veeam Certified Architect (VMCA) & Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)

Person Specification

● 12–16 years of experience in datacenter solutions, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, storage, backup, DR, and data migration

● Hands-on experience with containers (OpenShift/Kubernetes), automation (Ansible), and AI infrastructure is a strong plus

● Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across multi-vendor environments

● Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale IT projects — including zero-downtime migrations — for government, banking, telecom, and healthcare clients

● Excellent client, vendor, and internal team communication

● Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities
